Our first glimpse of X-Men: Apocalypse’s titular villain came our way at the weekend, and now we have a much better look at Oscar Isaac as the movie’s big bad, thanks to Entertainment Weekly. Now, Apocalypse was always going to be a hard sell, and while Bryan Singer’s vision of the character will no doubt have its fair share of haters (I’ve already heard comparisons to Power Rangers villains), I’m a big fan of the practical approach over a hulking CGI creation, and it’s a really creepy design that I find myself warming to.
Beyond Apocalypse, we also get our first look at Alexandria Shipp as the de-aged Storm, sporting the fan favourite mohawk look for the character, and Olivia Munn as telepathic ninja Psylocke, clad in spot on recreation of her comic book costume. There are some returning faces too, including a new costume for Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, with Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), and Professor X (James McAvoy) all getting a look in.
