With filming currently taking place in Boston, Paul Feig’s much ballyhooed, but highly anticipated, Ghostbusters reboot has three new additions to its cast, with Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams (The Wire, Boardwalk Empire), and Neil Casey (Veep, Inside Amy Shumer) slotting in alongside the movie’s gender bended ghost busting quartet of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, as well as Chris Hemsworth as the teams receptionist.
Garcia will be taking on the role of the Mayor of New York City, while Williams will be playing a character called Hawkins. Nothing much else is known about the role, but Im hoping for a character similar to EPA agent Walter Peck. Casey’s the interesting addition though, being billed as Rowan, the movie’s big bad. Nothing much is known about the character, but it seems this reboot will be at least be featuring a bad guy along the lines of Gozer or Viggo the Carpathian. Like much of the cast, Casey is known as a comedian first and for most, and I for one am intrigued as what Feig has in store for him.
