Not to be outdone by JJ Abrams, director Rian Johnson is said to be trying to land an actor that Abrams failed to lock down for his Star Trek movie.
It's being reported that Benecio Del Toro has been offered the role of the main villain for Johnson's Star Wars movie, Episode VIII which will follow this years Star Wars; The Force Awakens.
Del Toro famously turned down JJ Abrams for the part of Khan for Star Trek Into Darkness, a part that ultimately went to Benedict Cumberbatch.
We don't yet know if the actor would be interested in appearing in the Star Wars franchise, but we DO know that Disney have his number, as he had a scene-stealing minor role in Guardians of the Galaxy last year.
Fun fact of the day; If Del Toro takes Johnson up on his offer he will be the first Oscar winner to appear in the new trilogy and only the second to appear in the Star Wars franchise - the first will be Forest Whitaker in Gareth Edwards spinoff, Rogue One.
