When Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) was announced to be joining the cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, even though she was said to be playing a character created specially for the movie, many fans (myself included) speculated that she would be playing Mercy Graves, Lex Luthor’s ass kicking chauffeur/bodyguard who first saw the light of day on Superman: The Animated Series. Now, with a break down of that awesome trailer, DC All Access have confirmed (at 2:23) that this is indeed the case, making her the second DC Comics character created specifically for Warner Bros. animated shows to make the jump to the big screen, alongside Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad.
Mercy Graves is a pretty bad ass character, but really her inclusion doesn’t add up to much else than her whaling on people. So, are we going see Okamoto going toe to toe with the titular heroes, or even Wonder Woman? My money’s on an epic throw down between Okamoto and Batfleck.
