With the film currently in production, the cast of Star Trek Beyond grows by one with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that The Raid’s Joe Taslim is joining Justin Lin's, who previously worked with the actor on Fast & Furious 6, inaugural voyage with the franchise. Taslim joins the core cast, as well as other newcomers Idris Elba as the movie’s big bad and Kingsman: The Secret Service’s Sofia Boutella in a mystery role. Nothing much is known about Taslim’s character, other than he is connected to Elba in some way (more than likely his right hand man), but considering his background, and how Lin used him in the previous collaboration, we can expect the actor to break our some incredibly impressive martial arts skills.
Star Trek Beyond is set for release July 8th 2016.
