The 5th Annual UnderGround Film Festival will take place between August 22nd and August 29th
Proudly supported by Rising Sons Brewery, the UnderGround Film Festival is one of the only Film Festivals in the country to actively give to charity and this year will once again continue to contribute to its long term partners; the ISPCC.
This year’s events programme is the largest to date, with submissions having come from 35 countries but according to Festival Director Darren O’Mahony, the most exciting events are still the wide selection of local made short films. "This year has seen a huge surge in submission numbers, we took in almost three times as many entries as last year and those films have come from all across the globe”, O’Mahoney says. " Shorts made in Cork though will always take pride of place with us with the quality of work on par with any other. The talent is here and we are delighted to encourage it as much as we can.”
Dracula, One Upon a Time) and Writer/Director Terry McMahon who's highly successful film "Patrick's Day" recently won big at the IFTA Awards.
