While the trippy and... ahem....strange world(s) of Doctor Strange may add up to this latest project from Marvel Studios to take on the label of ‘Marvel’s biggest gamble’, the second instalment of the studio’s Phase Three may have hit on a great solution to get audiences’ bids on seat for director Scott Derrickson’s (Sinister) exploration of the mystical side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: populate it with an amazing cast of actors. Of course, the titular Master of the Mystic Arts will be played by none other than Benedict Cumberbatch, with Tilda Swinton taking on the role of his mentor, The Ancient One, and Chiwetel Ejiofor cast as his fellow student and eventual nemesis, Baron Mordo. Now, we can add another name to this already impressive list, with Variety reporting that Mads Mikkelsen is in early talks to take on a as yet unnamed villain role.
Doctor Strange is set for release November 4th 2016.
