2015 has been a very good year indeed for Universal, with the studio already setting the all time box office record, thanks to the likes of Fifty Shades of Grey, Pitch Perfect 2, Fast & Furious 7, and Jurassic World, both of which earned over $1 billion each. Now, Universal has another feather in its cap with Minions reaching that magic number since its release in June. On top of that, the first solo adventure for the lovable yellow guys is now the third highest grossing animated movie of all time, after Frozen and Toy Story 3. Not bad for the banana loving, gibberish spouting sidekicks.
