Has Wonder Woman Found Its Villains?

With Gal Gadot debuting as Wonder Woman next year in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. are gearing up for her first solo outing in 2017, with shooting in London set to begin this November. With Gadot and Chris Pine, as love interest Steve Trevor, already on board, a new rumour from Heroic Hollywood suggests director Patty Jenkins is looking to pit our heroine against not one but two villains, with Sean Bean sought to play ancient Greek deity Ares, the God of War, and Eva Green once again flexing her bad guy muscles once again as Circe, a wicked sorcerous who has been a long time thorn in Wonder Woman’s side.

Personally, I figured Cheetah, considered Wonder Woman’s Joker, would be a shoe in for the bad guy role for this first solo outing, both these foes make sense and play up the mystical angle of the character in a great way. Bean hasn’t really played a good villain since Goldeneye, but he does have a  great presence and should work as Ares if the character is cast as the all powerful force working behind the scenes. Green, on the other hand, can play villains in her sleep at this stage, and I really hope these rumours hope to be true as she could seriously knock it out of the park. With production a few short weeks from kicking off, everything should become clear very soon.

Wonder Woman is set for release June 23rd 2017.
