Looks like last night's Bar Wars, complete with Mark Hamill pulling pints was something of a wrap party in Portmagee. At least for the Skellig Michael shoot at least. Mark Hamill, Rian Johnson, Daisy Ridley and crew have completed filming on the island. Have they upped sticks completely and left Kerry or Ireland for that matter? We're not entirely sure to be honest.
I have been hearing more and more chatter that they will shoot some more scenes, more than likely in the surrounding Kerry vistas, but I can't say for sure. While no details of other locations were held in the consent letter issued by the DAHG, it did mention that the consent was valid up until the end of September. Stupidly I never downloaded the .pdf which has now being removed (ironically enough) from the Government Department's website ( http://www.ahg.gov.ie/en/Heritage/NationalParksandWildlifeService/Skelligs%20Consent%20Letter%202015.pdf )
Originally when we broke the story nearly a month ago our source had told us that the Irish shoot was going to be for six weeks in total. Rian Johnson and more so the crew itself had been in Kerry for at least a few days before this week's shoot. Theoretically, there is another few weeks left, if our source is accurate, and considering who they are, we're inclined to believe them. But as always, things change rather quickly. Either way watch this space, and don't forget October 15th is coming, which we're very reliably informed is the day that tickets for The Force Awakens go on sale. But something else is happening that day as well according to another source we have, and that something is very, very big. I'd hazard a guess it's the trailer to push the ticket sales. We'll have to wait and see, but it does tie into J.J. Abrams saying TFA trailer would hit in the fall period!
