While The Flash is currently tearing up our t.v. screens, DC Comics’ Scarlet Speedster will be coming to the big screen in 2018, with Ezra Miller slapping the lighting bolt on his chest to Barry Allen, the Fastest Man Alive. Previously, The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller weren’t attached to write a treatment, as well as possibly directing. But with the pair opting instead to bring the adventure of a young Han Solo to life, Warner Bros. had to look elsewhere. The Hollywood Reporter has now revealed they have their man, setting their eyes on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter author Seth Grahame-Smith to write and direct.
While Grahame-Smith’s screenwriting work includes Dark Shadows and the upcoming The LEGO Batman Movie, this will be his directorial debut, with Warner Bros. pulling a bit of a Marvel Studios by setting loose an unknown director on their blockbuster property. While the character has proven to be a hit on t.v. , it will remain to be seen if that can translate to the big screen.
While The Flash will hit our screens on November 17th 2017, he will first be seen in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before rubbing shoulders with the rest of the DCCU’s heroein 2017’s Justice League.
