We’ve been chomping at the bit to see it for so long, and now it’s finally here: the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War, and, boy, was it worth the wait.
While the cast is fit to bursting with Cap’s Avengers teammates, this very much the Star-Spangled Avenger’s movie, and this teaser does a great job of setting up the conflict between Steve and Tony, picking up on elements present in Avengers: Age of Ultron. On top of that, the Russo Brothers have also delivered some incredibly arresting visuals, including our first shot of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther in action and Cap and Bucky whaling on Iron Man. If this trailer is anything to go by, Marvel Studio’s Phase Three will kick off with quite the bang.
Released: May 6th 2016
Synopsis: “Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
