As we all know, the task of providing the theme song to James Bond’s 24th adventure fell to Sam Smith and his down beat ballad “Writing’s on the Wall”, a song that is not entirely terrible but not one that fits Ian Fleming’s suave super spy (especially in a title sequence that features octopuses flying through the air with abandon). Was there a better song Eon Productions could have picked? Why yes, yes there was. It turns out Radiohead recorded their very own song, entitled Spectre, and it found its way online for us all to here on Christmas Day, and, it being Radiohead, it is absolutely beautiful and incredibly haunting. We may never know how Sam Smith edged out the band, but we can certainly agree that this would have worked a lot better. Listen for yourself below.
