The release of a bunch of teaser posters a while back seemed to indicate we’d to be getting a trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters pretty soon, but no dice. So while we’re still waiting on that (seriously, it’s out in about seven months), EW have unveiled a new picture from the much debated reboot featuring it’s Kirsten Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon in full on bad ass mode. But what I want to know is what flipped that truck?
EW also revealed a synopsis of sorts, giving a much better handle on what will actually be going on. At first glance, it feels that scene in Ghostbusters 2 where New York is invaded by ghosts stretched out to an entire movie, but it does do enough to separate this new vision from the original. It will be interesting to see where it goes from there:
Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot. Pilgrims, old-time sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoo-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.
Ghostbusters is set for release July 15th 2016.
