Star Wars: The Force Awakens is only on its second weekend in cinemas, but already it has a slew of records, including Best Worldwide Opening Weekend and Best Single Day Gross, under its belt. Now that belt needs to be loosened quite a bit , with the world wide box office take for the long awaited return to a galaxy far, far away now coming to $1.090 after only twelve days. This puts the sequel as the third movie to reach the magic billion in record time in 2015, with Fast & Furious 7 reaching it in seventeen and Jurassic World shattering that record with thirteen. With Star Wars still packing audiences in theatres around the world, there might be a few more records coming its way before it finally takes it bow.
