While, whenever someone brings up Netflix, talk invariably turns to House of Cards and Making a Murderer, lets not forget that the streaming service has some amazing comedy shows under their belt, namely The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, and Master of None. Now, one of the biggest guns in modern comedy, Judd Apatow, is trying his hand at binge ready t.v. with Love, a ten episode series which chronicles the lives of Gus (Paul Rust) and Mickie (Gillian Jacobs) as they embark on relationship together, something they were both looking to avoid.
Created, written, and executive produced by Apatow, Rust, and Brooklyn 99’s Lesley Arfin, Love looks to deliver on the promise of Netflix’s other half hour comedies and carries with it the charm and humour we’ve come to expect from the man who brought us The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Funny People. Those who have been following Apatow since Freaks and Geeks will no doubt welcome his return to serialised storytelling with open arms.
Love hits Netflix globally on February 19th.
