Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth finally hit the big screen (read our review here), properly this time, last week, and Deadpool’s worldwide box office tally is in for it’s opening weekend is in, and boy, is it impressive. Breaking records in the U.S. for biggest single day February opening and biggest single day opening R-Rated debut, beating Fifty Shades of Grey and The Matrix Reloaded respectively, it’s American haul comes to $135 million. This is well above expectations (it was initially predicted to take in $75 million), and adding that to it’s international gross of $125 million, it’s worldwide take comes to $260 million, all off the back of a $58 million budget and an absolutely amazing marketing campaign.
