While we’re a few weeks out from the seeds being sown in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder’s teaming up of DC Comics heroes, Justice League, is gearing up to begin shooting in April, and while we already know Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Mamoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (The Flash), and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) will be filling out the titular super team, another new cast member has been announced, one with quite the comic book movie pedigree himself.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that J. Jonah Jameson himself, J.K. Simmons has signed onto play Commissioner Gordon, and while it is unclear what his role in the movie entails, it’s a safe bet to assume he will reprise the role when Bat-fleck headlines his own solo movie in the future. While this role is a million miles away from his bombastic turn as JJJ (no one can shout ‘Parker!’ quite like him), Simmons has shown himself to be an incredibly versatile actor (Whiplash and Oz, anyone?), and I for one can’t wait to see what he does with the character.
Justice League Part One is set for release on November 10th 2017, with Part 2 coming our way on June 14th 2019.
