Filming may have wrapped on the fifth installment of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Men Tell No Tales, but Deadline are reporting that directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (Kon-Tiki) are setting the cameras rolling again, spurred on by the almost stealth casting of Paul McCartney, the first time, if you can believe it, the legendary musician will play someone other than himself on the big screen. The additional shooting will consist of an entirely new scene, an all-new set piece designed to showcase his character.
Details of his character are very thin on the ground. He could be anything from a relation to the returning Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom, or an entirely new character. Personally, I’d get a kick out of him being Jack Sparrow’s uncle. With Jack’s father, of course, previously played by Keith Richards, there is a lot of fun to be had with playing off the Beatles/Rolling Stones’ rivalry.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No tales is set for release July 7th 2017.
