Whenever anyone brings up the Marvel Cinematic Universe, talk invariably turns to Tom Hiddleston’s fan favourite turn as Loki, and when the history books look back at the MCU as a whole, he will definitely have a chapter all to himself. But all good things must come to an end (as we learned from Hans Zimmer earlier today), and it really looks like Hiddleston will hanging up the golden horns once the end credits roll on Thor: Ragnarok. Speaking to The Daily Beast, the actor teased just as much, saying:
Thor 3 will be cool because I’ve not done it for four years. I love working with Chris [Hemsworth]. This will be my last time out of the gate.
When pushed, asking if he’ll appear in Avengers: Infinity War, he relented somewhat, adding:
I don’t know! Honestly, I don’t know. They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.
The Russo Brothers have teased a mind blowing amount of characters for Infinity War, so that final comment is probably referring to the script still being put in place for the two part Avengers event. Hiddleston has been an absolute delight whenever he stepped foot in the MCU, and the role helped his career skyrocket, so it will be sad to see him go, but as I said before, good things must end, and if he does take his MCU with Ragnarok, there is no doubt he will go out with a bang.
Thor: Ragnarok is set for release November 3rd 2017.
