The Ring and The Grudge may have been two of the better entries in Hollywood’s short lived obsession with J-horror remakes, but nothing really can beat the originals, with the two movies’ iconic main characters, Sadako and Kayako, being the stuff of absolute nightmares. And in a world where Batman steps toe to toe with Superman, and the Avengers are beating the art out of each other, why not have the two come together? Well, it’s happening, watch the trailer for Sadako vs Kayako for the proof.
How awesome was that? Sure, it’s pretty hard (scratch that, impossible) to make out what’s going on, but who needs plot when Kayako is getting choked out by Sadako’s hair, or the iconic Ring video is being crushed by a vengeful spirit’s bare hands. Sadako vs Kayako is set for release June 18th, and you better believe I’m hoping against hope it makes its way to this side of the pond soon after.
