All eyes are on Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Han Solo spin-off, chronicling a time before he met Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Mos Eisley cantina, especially on who the duo choose to play a younger version of everyone’s favourite scruffy Nerf Herder, and while there is no official word from Disney and Lucasfilm as of yet, all major publications are reporting that Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures, Blue Jasmine, Hail, Caesar!) has signed on the dotted line to step into Harrison Ford’s substantial shoes. Ehrenreich has been rumoured to have taken the role for some time now, beating out the likes of Jack Reynor, Dave Franco, Taron Eggerton, and Miles Teller. While he doesn’t have many credits to his name, he has proven himself a fine actor with he has been in, and managed to steal the show in Hail, Caeser! as ‘singing cowboy’ Hobie Doyle. He’s a promising talent, and I’m really looking forward to see what Lord and Miller do with him and the character when the movie hits screens on May 25th 2018.
