Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War has exploded into the #1 spot at the Irish & UK Box Office with an estimated €17.9M (Stg£14.03M) opening weekend. The film, which has been applauded by critics and fans alike, has already out performed the first Captain America film after just three days. Fans across Ireland & the UK have been divided choosing to support either #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan but Captain America: Civil War is standing united in its success as the #1 film across both countries. The film is also showing its power internationally where it is #1 in almost every market where it has opened, taking over $200M worldwide ahead of its release next week in America.
Additionally Walt Disney Studios showed its continued force at the Irish & UK box office with The Jungle Book still delighting audiences across Ireland, the UK and the world. The film, hailed for its cinematic experience, has generated another €6.5M (Stg£5.1M) at the Irish & UK box office with a cume of €37.7M (Stg£29.5M), crossing $600M Globally. Great word of mouth for Disney’s Zootropolis has resulted in another strong weekend in Ireland and the UK for the film that now has a total cume of €28.1M (Stg£22M). This Sunday Disney held the first, second and third spot at the box office in Ireland.
