Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows promises to be a TMNT fan’s wildest dream, packing in a huge number of fan favourite characters, including Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey Jones, and Baxter Stockman (not to mention finally getting the Shredder right after his mistreatment in the lacklustre, but still fun, original). Those four would have been enough for most people, but director Dave Green goes one step further and throws Krang (voiced by SNL’s Fred Armisen) into the mix too, a prospect that found the brains of many Turtles fans wanting to exit their heads immediately. He’s only being teased so far, but a new t.v. spot has been released that reveals him in all his pink, squishy, tentacled glory. First, here’s a picture as we know him from the cartoon:
Now, here’s your live action Krang:
Pretty awesome, am I right? Not only is he delightfully gross, but him outside his robotic suit (which seems to be tweaked from earlier glimpses we saw) promises a level of interaction with the environment I don’t think we’ve seen from the character before. Having him bounce around, fighting the Turtles one on one is something I have to see right now. If nothing else, Out of the Shadows is going to prove to be a fantastic nostalgia hit for fans.

Released: May 30th (IRL/U.K.)/ June 3rd (U.S.)
Synopsis: Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
