Having seen him tear up the small screen as the hilariously brash Kenny Powers, I think we can all agree that Danny McBride been announced as a cast member of the decidedly somber Alien: Covenant was something that came all the way out of left field. I actually love the actor, but I can’t imagine him facing off a Xenomorph attack without making some sly, sarcastic quip afterwards. Time will tell what he brings to the role, but we have our first look at McBride on set with Ridley Scott, which also gives us a great look at the practicals sets used to bring the Covenant ship to life. There’s a definite feel of the original Alien to them, and that’s one thing that is getting me excited for this return to the universe.
Released: 4th August 2017
Synopsis: Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
