With production set to begin on Anthony and Joe Russo’s epic, two part super hero event, Avengers: Infinity War, in November, and while we’ve known for some time the movies were getting a title change from Infinity War Parts 1 and 2, Marvel Studios have now updated us on the whole matter. Coming May 4th 2018, the first movie will now be Avengers: Infinity War, showcasing the long heralded war between the Marvel heroes and Josh Brolin’s intergalactic despot Thanos, while it’s follow-up, due out May 3rd 2019, is known as untitled Avengers film for the time being.
This is a pretty interesting turn of events. Is the plan now for the two movie to be separate stories, or are Marvel Studios just looking for a snappier title? The reason may also point towards the second movie referencing the next big MCU event that may be considered a spoiler at this early stage. Either way, it’ll be interesting to see what they finally settle on.
