While the rebooted Star Trek movies, or the Kelvin Timeline if you prefer, have pleased fans no end, one thing they have being lacking in is a compelling and believable villain. Nero felt wasted as the first movie marched on, and while Benedict Cumberbatch pulled out all the stops as Khan, he just felt tacked on at the end of the day. What Star Trek Beyond has going for it in the villain stakes is they’ve brought in Idris Elba as the ruthless Krall, even if they made the misstep of hiding his handsome visage under a ton of prosthetics. We know this man can exude menace with a single word, and a new feature has come our way that further fleshes out Krall’s motives and character, promising a worthy big bad for the crew of the Enterprise to butt heads with.
