We all know that Steppenwolf, general in the army of intergalactic despot Darkseid (whose also expected to appear), will be the big bad that Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and the rest of the Justice League will unite against when DC Comics collection of heavy hitters crash onto the big screen next year. But Ben Affleck has posted an intriguing piece of video from the movie’s London set, featuring another major DC villain, the deadly, one eyed assassin Slade Wilson, otherwise know as Deathstroke, who in his long comic book history has gone toe to toe with Batman, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and more.
This is not the first time Deathstroke has been linked with the DCEU, recent rumours suggested he would mix it up with Task Force X in a possible Suicide Squad sequel, and his addition to the burgeoning shared universe has been expected for a while ever since Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that, after been a major part of the series early on, they won’t be able to use him again since he’s ‘tied up in another DC project’. While Affleck’s video does suggest that he will appear in Justice League, it could be a cameo to set up a larger role for the character down the line. In fact, The Wrap is reporting that he will be the big bad of the upcoming Batman solo movie, which Affleck will co-write and direct. This makes sense, Deathstroke being the perfect foe for Batman, on par with the Dark Knight when it comes to strategy and hand to hand combat.
