A few months back, we got a rumour possibly confirming what we’ve expected for a while now: Daniel Craig was done with James Bond. Of course, him hanging up his tuxedo would leave a giant hole that EON Productions and MGM desperately need to fill, and names as who would be next 007 have been flying about ever since. Now, we may have a possible shortlist, but seeing as it comes form The Sun, grabbing the largest handful of salt you can may be recommended. The rumoured list is made up of eight actors (damn, just one off from a wonderful pun), many of whom we’ve seen linked to the role already. We have Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hiddleston, Jamie Bell, Aidan Turner, James Norton, Luke Evans, and Michael Fassbender.
Of course, Elba has been a front runner fro the role for quite sometime now, but he’s downplayed the possibility, citing that at 43 he’s too old to play the part. It’s probably not worth mentioning to him that Craig is 48. Hiddleston has been another name that’s been a frontrunner as of late, but the other names, if they do indeed turn out to be true, are very intriguing. Especially Norton, who is best known for his t.v work on Happy Valley. The report claims that long time Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has final say over who will ultimately be Craig’s replacement. Of course, it’s probably best to wait until we hear something official before jumping to conclusions.
