With Adam Sandler enjoying great success with his string of Netflix exclusive movies (god only knows how though), it was only a matter of time till so good buddy Kevin James got in on the action, and now we have the first trailer for True Memoirs of an International Assassin, an action comedy with a plot so old school i could have swore I saw this in the 80’s. James plays a mild manner author who is mistaken for a master assassin when his fictional novel about a globe trotting killer-for-hire is published as a true story. When the book is huge success, he is kidnapped and forced into a real life assassination plot.
I really try to like Kevin James, and sometime he makes it incredibly easy with the likes of King of Queens and Here Comes the Boom. But other times, he stars in Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Thankfully, this definitely has a vibe more in keeping with the latter two movies. Time will tell what the movie has in store for us, when it hits Netflix on November 11th.
