One of the biggest disappointment’s with X-Men: Apocalypse was that Bryan Singer didn’t exploit the movie’s time period to it’s fullest like First Class and Days of Future Past before it, with the 80’s setting feeling nothing more like window dressing. But it turns out that the era of big hair and pastel colours was originally going to play a more prominent role to proceedings, with the below deleted scene which fleshes out the trip to the mall Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, and Jubilee took while shit was beginning to hit the fan.
With the first act, where this scene would have slotted in, already overburdened with set-up (in my opinion at least), it’s easy to see why it was left on the cutting room floor, but it still is a pretty fun scene chock full of personality, as well as giving Lana Condor’s Jubilee a bit more to do and giving her a chance to show her off comic accurate powers in action.
