King Kong is roaring back onto our screens in a big, bad way, and if this fantastic new trailer, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live, for Kong: Skull Island is any indication, it’s gonna be a hell of a good time. There’s elements of humour, horror, and even a war drama present in this stylish new glimpse at the movie, and it seem director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) has brought them altogether in a way that will leave us with an endlessly entertaining blockbuster at the end of the day.
While the cast is spectacular, with not one, not two, but three Marvel alums (Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and new girl on the scene Brie Larson) and John C. Rielly bringing the comedy, this movie really belongs to the titular gigantic monkey, and the visual effects bringing Kong to life look spectacular. On top of all that, this is all leading to the eventual King Kong vs. Godzilla movie and it’ll be interesting to see how the seeds are sown for that eventual titanic smackdown.
