With director Gary ross (The Hunger Games) at the helm, the ultra cool Ocean’s Eleven is getting a gender bending makeover this Summer with Ocean’s 8 which sees Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) attempting to pull off the heist of the century at New York’s star-studded Met Gala. Our first look at this new gang of lady thieves has come our way, and as you can see quite a talented cast has been assembled.
From left to right, we have Bullock, Cate Blanchett (Lou), Rihanna (Nine Ball), Mindy Kaling (Amita), Awkwafina (Constance), Helena Boham Carter (Rose), Anne Hathaway (Daphne Kluger0m and Sarah Paulson (Tammy). Now, it remains to be seen if Ocean’s 8 can capture the same ultra cool style as the Steven Soderbergh’s originals, but their spirit will be alive and well with a cameo from Matt Damon, presumably reprising his role as Linus Caldwell. Hopefully, it will fare much better than another recent gender bending remake that we won’t mention the name of.
Released: June 8th
