The last we saw of Simon Pegg’s junk dealer Unbar Plutt in Star Wars: The Force Awakens he was shaking his fist as fast as he could after Rey and Finn stole the Millennium Falcon from his junk yard. He didn’t turn up again for the rest of the movie, but a new deleted scene has come online that shows that there was more planned for Mr. Plutt, with the junker turning up to confront Rey in Maz Katana’s palace. Things don’t go well for him, with Chewbacca getting involved and proving once and for all that Wookie’s go straight to the limb ripping when they get angry.
It’s easy to see why the scene ended up on the cutting room floor. Besides the fact that it is a nice little call back to A New Hope, it’s superfluous really. The Force Awakens was chock full of enough nostalgia that this would have seemed like overkill. That being said, it is a fun little scene that will delight fans to no end.
