Guy Ritchie’s take on the well worn Arthurian legend, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, hits our screens in three short months, and a new trailer has come our way, letting us no exactly what is store for us. Previous trailers focused on the more grounded side of the legend, but this one goes full on weird with gigantic beasts, epic clashes between massive armies, and magic up the wazoo. I gotta say, I kinda love it. Ritchie seems to be having lots of fun with his own spin on the fantasy epic, and now I find myself waiting for the finished product with bated breath.
When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.
Released: May 12th
