Rest assured Everything is STILL Awesome! The Lego movie was a rip roaring success and Lego Batman continues that trend. If anything, it's even better than 2014 movie.
Batman (voiced of course by Will Arnett) finds himself taking on the Joker (Zach Galifianakis) as well as himself, as he tries not only to save the city, but tries to work with others. Enter Robin (Michael Cera), Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) and a whole host of others.
Lego Batman has more nods to Batman movies (Nolan, Burton and Adam West all get MULTIPLE nods) that you can throw a truck load of batarangs at and none of them feel forced or crowbarred in. To it's credit the movie delivers time and time again with gags and easter eggs and they all hit the mark.
Will Arnett totally rocks Batman, and while Zach Galifianakis is no Mark Hamill, his vocal performance is adequate, as is Michael Cera. Arnett aside, nobody else is breaking a sweat here and Cera's squeaky performance may grate on audiences at some point.
Visually, Lego Batman is a delight. Kids and adults will be blown away by the unique visuals on display. Even the soundtrack is a blast, especially the opening number.
Overall, there is very little to fault about Lego Batman. Granted, it drags it heels around the half way mark, but does get going again. It's funnier than the Lego movie by a long shot (and that was hilarious) and is a must watch!
