Ever since the end credits stinger of Deadpool faded off the screen, fans were speculating who would be playing future warrior, and owner of the biggest shoulder pads in comics, Cable in the highly anticipated sequel. Stephen Lang, Russell Crowe, Pierce Brosnan, Kyle Chandler, and Stranger Things’ David Harbour have had their names associated with the role, but with all eyes on Cable, another casting announcement has snuck up on us. Taking to Twitter, the Merc with the Mouth himself (and executive producer) Ryan Reynolds revealed the Zazie Beetz, from t.v. show Atlanta, has been cast as the mutant mercenary Domino. As is with Deadpool, Reynolds announced the casting in a creative way:
This is a huge, potentially break out role for Beetz. Not only will she play a part of one of the biggest sequels in recent memory, the character is also expected to play a role in Fox’s in development X-Force. As for who Domino is, she is a highly skilled mercenary with a very unique power. She can, unconsciously, alter the probability of situations around her in seemingly random ways, making things work out in her favour. Basically, she has the power of good luck, and you can bet writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick can come up with hilarious ways that this power can mess with Deadpool.
