With The Hunt for the WilderPeople and What we do in the Shadows Taika Waititi at the helm, Thor: Ragnarok promises to be a very different animal compared to the the God of Thunder’s previous two installments, bringing in plenty of humour as Thor goes on a cosmic road trip to save Asgard. Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, the first images have come our way, letting us know what Raganrok has in store for us. And what is that exactly? Well, it’s definitely lot more colourful, Thor has a hair cut, Loki hasn’t changed much, and our first looks at Tess Thompson’s Valkyrie, Cate Blanchett’s villainous Hela, and Jeff Goldblum’s colourful Grandmaster (one of the Elders of the Universe, the same group Benicio Del Toro’s The Collector belongs to) are pretty bad ass. No Hulk, but Mark Ruffalo does sneak in there.
Thor has always been the less well received hero of the MCU. His solo movies are fun, but always seem a lot more staid than, say, Guardians of the Galaxy or Captain America. That seems to be changing with Ragnarok, and I for one can’t wait.
Released: November 3rd
Synopsis: Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
