Honestly, I’m not a fan of Gervais at all but I do think he seems to excel in these kinds of situations. He played a blinder hosting the Golden Globes, although the Americans didn’t seem to get quite a selection of his skits. It’s great to see a host give the 2 fingers to half the audience and it makes the whole thing far more watchable. There’s only a certain amount of people in the world that can laugh at themselves, and many of them were not at the Golden Globes. Macca had that look of “I’m ringing the hitman”. Jennifer Aniston had a similar look. And Pierce Brosnan had the disapproving Dad type look! Either way, well done to Ricky. I’m sure plenty can smell burning bridges in the distance!
