Space Invaders the movie

I shit you not. According to Empire there is quite a bit of negotiations going on at the moment for the rights to the ground breaking video game from the late 1970’s, Space Invaders. Apparently the likes of Jason Blum of Paranormal Activity fame is one of many that is interested in acquiring the rights from Taito. I love the video game, but how the hell is this going to work in the movie sense? As, lets be honest, the game is quite basic. And you may bet your last shit that this will be in 3D too! Wonder will they have the actual sound effects from the game, in the movie!
