Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives has won the Palme D’or at Cannes. It’s from Apitchatpong Weerasethakul, whose name I attempted to pronounce on air last night, and quickly failed. Uncle Boonmee is about a bloke that’s dying and a variety of dead people turn up, including his ex-wife and son. And apparently there’s something about sex with a catfish as well. So, a Tim Burton lead jury has chose something bonkers for the one most prestigious awards in the world. Great!
