Bit late to the posting with this but there’s a newer tidbit in here too. On Friday Deadline ran a piece that the Hobbit is set to start shooting in Feb next year and the pair of movies will be directed by Peter Jackson..in 3D. So it’s a go, even though the union debacle continues and the 2 movies will cost $500 million. Casting rumours are flying as well with Martin Freeman playing Bilbo Baggins and apparently James Nesbitt has been offered a role as Michael Fassbender is also on the horizon for a part. It’s expected that Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis will return as well.
