Contrary to what was previously posted, a planned cameo for Mel Gibson in the upcoming Hangover 2 has been dropped. Director Todd Phillips says he didn’t have the full support of his entire cast and crew."I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team," said Phillips in a statement released by the studio, "But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew."
Looks like somebody doesn’t want Gibson to get his career rebooted. It’s a bit of a bizarre decision and one would imagine that plenty of cast and crew have worked with people they haven’t liked in the past. So what's new here? I smell politics!
