Well, the wait is over. Quite a selection of directors were in the running to direct Superman and now the wait, as they say, is over. Congrats to Zach Snyder (who was 1 of 2 I was rooting for, Duncan Jones being the other) has got the gig. It might come as no surprise to some, as Warner Bros. are behind the reboot and of course have worked with Snyder in the past as well on 300 and Watchmen. Either way Christopher Nolan is at the production helm and the movie needs to start production by 2011 or it risks losing some copyrights to the heirs of Superman’s creators.
Personally, I can’t wait to see what Snyder does with this! I think visually, he is unequalled in Hollywood. 300 and Watchmen were simply stunning. Now, here’s a thought! God knows what kinda flick Warner want, but wouldn’t it be great if Snyder didn’t make a PG version of Superman and stayed true to his roots? Who knows what way it will go, but with the new Spidey flick aiming at younger audience, they might have no choice but to do a younger flick! Anyway, fingers and toes crossed Snyder makes the movie he’s capable of making!
