It based (albeit loosely) on the Edgar Allen Poe short story, which see’s a Harvard Medical school graduate taking a job at an insane asylum, which he soon realises is not run by under paid, over worked health care professionals, but by the actual inmates themselves. Orin “Paranormal Activity” Peli will take on the project after work on his next found footage movie, Area 51, is complete. Eliza Graves has been floating around since 2001 with some serious heavy hitters attached at one point or another. Namely the likes of Johnny Depp, Natalie Portman, Ian McKellen and the late Heath Ledger. If the final movie can still attract some seriously big names (and I reckon it’s right up Depp’s Street) Peli could well arrive to mainstream Hollywood as opposed to being known as the Paranormal Activity guy.
