Following an unsubstantiated rumor creeping online about his early retirement, Kevin Smith has taken to /Film to state exactly what's going. Firstly, he ain't retiring anytime soon. Secondly, the Clerks & Cop Out director dropped a bit of interesting info on how he might find a distributor for his first venture into Horror, Red State. Take this with a grain of salt, as it may in fact just be Smith kidding around. But it'd be a humorous way to sell your movie!
Here's what Smith had to say with regards to the flick; "if it gets into Sundance, my plan is to pick the RED STATE distributor right there – IN THE ROOM – auction style. Might even bring up a professional auctioneer to make it fun and unintelligible."
