*update* The below story has been confirmed. James Franco and Anne Hathaway will host the Oscars
Considering the success of a duo (Martin and Baldwin), it probably makes sense that the Academy might have another go at getting another duo to host again this year! And according to Deadline James Franco and Anne Hathaway have been asked to host the Oscars and it looks like they both accepted the offer! An announcement could be made as soon as this week. I’m not sure about Hathaway, but Franco is an inspired choice and I’m sure would work very, very well with Hathaway. Either way, if this is true, it’s a good turn for the Academy and should be a winner, particularly with the younger audiences. And there’s enough appeal from the 2 stars to keep the old farts happy too!
