Steven Soderbergh is in early negotiations to direct the Warner Bros. adaptation of the 60's TV Series, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. according to The Wrap. The Cold War set spy thriller has been in development hell for quite some time now, with everyone from David Dobkin to Quentin Tarantino attached at one point or another. If it eventually gains some momentum, it will be interesting to see if Soderbergh takes the film in a more straight edged route, as the original screenplay was said to be very 'comedic'. The film will follow the adventures of American spies working for a secret organization called the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.
I'm certainly open to the idea of a Soderbergh directed espionage flick, so let's hope this grows some legs.
