The Movie Bit.com’s annual Movie Of The Year Poll saw large numbers of movie fans vote for their favourite movie of 2010.
The results are in and this year’s movie of the year is INCEPTION. Christopher Nolan’s dream thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Cork’s Cillian Murphy claimed the top spot with 29.25% of the votes. The Movie Bit readers and Cork’s RedFM listener’s have been voting since November 16th, and hours after voting commenced, Inception started pulling away and remained at the top position from the outset.
The position for 2nd and 3rd was not so clear cut. Hit Girl took on Buzz Lightyear as Toy Story 3 and Kick-Ass tussled for 2nd place. Voting went down to the wire with Matthew Vaughan’s comic book adaptation eventually grabbing the illustrious second place. The Top 5 goes as follows.
1 - INCEPTION - 29.11%
2 - KICK-ASS - 10.80%
3 - TOY STORY 3 - 9.39%
4 - THE SOCIAL NETWORK - 7.04%
5 - SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD - 5.63%
