A tad late with this one, but it's been announced via Deadline that Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof's Alien prequel script has morphed into a completely original project; Prometheus. Out of this huge news comes two other nuggets of information. Firstly, Noomi Rapace (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) is now locked to headline the flick and secondly, Prometheus is set for release through 20th Century Fox on March 9th, 2012. Scott is also attached to direct. The flick will mark the cinematic maestro's first foray into science fiction since the classic Blade Runner in 1982. Aside from all this factual info, there's also speculation that either Angelina Jolie or Charlize Theron will be joining Rapace for the outer space epic.
